New ReviewerI signed up with CPI following a sales rep visiting my home. I explained I moved for work and was assured that if I moved out of state during the contract term and CPI was not able to transfer my service then that would not be a problem.
Instead when I moved to Illinois CPI charged me for the remaining contract even though they could not provide the services in my new state and when I objected they appointed a debt collector with the inference that my credit would be affected. The debt collection company hounded me and I had no choice but to settle as even an ultimately successful disputed judgment can end up on your permanent credit history and put off lenders when it has taken a lot of effort to build an excellent credit score.
And the sales practice defense? The debt collector told me CPI specifically puts in clauses to allow the sales people to say anything and not be held liable.
User's recommendation: Disgusting company. Do not touch.
Monetary Loss: $610.
Preferred solution: Full refund.
